Day 1 of BAV Workshop

On 7 July 2024, 7pm, participants eagerly gathered at the Build A Violin workshop, ready to embark on a remarkable journey of craftsmanship. The experience was truly captivating as everyone delved into the intricate art of crafting a violin. Under the guidance of a skilled luthier & an educator, participants learned about the parts of a violin, shaping the instrument's body, and meticulously fitting the components together. The workshop was not only educational but also incredibly rewarding as everyone witnessed their violin take shape under their own hands. It was a hands-on experience that left everyone with a newfound appreciation for the craftsmanship behind these beautiful instruments. With determination in their eyes and passion in their hearts, they fearlessly took hold of sandpaper, clamps, and glue. As the workshop unfolded, their hands skillfully sanded, meticulously clamped, and expertly glued the top plate to the ribs, and the fingerboard to the neck. Each participant embraced the intricacies of violin-making, transforming raw materials into a harmonious masterpiece. The workshop became a symphony of creativity, as participants crafted not only violins, but also unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the art of instrument-making.
